A bat from the Town of Frankfort has tested positive for rabies, the Herkimer County Public Health Department said Wednesday in a statement.

The bat was sent to the New York State Department of Health Wadsworth Center for testing on Monday and positive results were reported Tuesday.

The dog was given a booster shot.
