Investigators assigned to the U.S. Marshals Service’s High Plains Fugitive Task Force in Fargo, assisted by the Metro Street Crimes Unit, arrested 27-year old Jerome Wesley Koon without incident late Thursday afternoon at his residence in south Fargo. Koon was wanted based on a felony warrant for failure to appear on a charge of Possession of a Firearm for Unlawful Purposes. The warrant originated in Mercer County, NJ.

The U.S. Marshals task force in Fargo recently received information from the New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force in Trenton, NJ which indicated Koon was in the Fargo-Moorhead area. Koon was wanted on the outstanding felony warrant from New Jersey, and also a felony parole violation warrant out of Bucks County, PA. He was on parole there for felony theft.

Task force investigators in Fargo determined that Koon was living at 2421 20th Avenue South in Fargo. An arrest plan was organized and executed which resulted in Koon’s capture. Koon was booked into the Cass County Jail to await a court appearance and probable extradition to New Jersey.

Koon has a serious criminal history which includes arrests for aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a machine gun, possession of a handgun, and theft. Law enforcement sources also confirm Koon is Bloods gang member.
