April's oil production numbers are in, and they remained almost flat from March.

Natural gas production reached an all time high with 2.8 billion cubic feet produced per day. 81% was captured statewide, which is below the goal of 88%. Mineral and Gas Division director Lynn Helms gave examples of how some companies are dealing with the shortfall.

"They have simply postponed completions until third or fourth quarter this year because there isn't gas capture infrastructure to pick it up. So again that would be 25,000 barrels per day," said Helms.

North Dakota also set a new all-time high at almost 15,500 wells producing oil in April.
