UPDATE:

We now know an 87-year old man died in the crash in rural Amenia Monday evening.

Troopers with the North Dakota Highway Patrol say a Peterbilt driven by a 37-year old woman was heading eastbound on 25th St. SE (Cass County Road 4) when it approached the intersection with 158th Ave SE. Troopers say traffic on Co. Rd. 4 has the right of way.

The Ford, driven by an 87-year old man was traveling southbound on 158th Ave SE. Troopers say the driver of the Ford failed to yield to the Peterbilt and was struck on the passenger side at a right angle.

After the collision, both the Peterbilt and Ford entered the southeast ditch at the intersection, where they both came to rest, upright.

The driver of the Peterbilt was not injured. The driver of the Ford was pronounced dead on scene, after lifesaving attempts were made.

The crash remains under investigation.
