The Fargo Food Truck Festival had some specials guests Saturday.

For the first time, the Red River Corgi Races came to the North Dakota Horse Park.

Over 40 corgi's raced for Diamond in the Ruff, a non-profit animal rescue that helps foster, rehabilitate and place abandoned animals.

Eddie, the two-year-old corgi was the winner of the race.

"We basically just brought him out to the dog park and tried to get him to come to his ball," said dog owner Jon Kuehnemund. "That was his training like one day."

"We have seen just the corgi events happening, and we've always tried to participate in them and raise some money for the shelters and just kind of give back," said owner Angie Kuehnemund.

The volunteers at the corgi races say they plan on bringing the event back. Over $1,700 was raised for Diamond in the Ruff.
