BYU went to Big Ten country to land its first offensive lineman of the 2021 recruiting class as 3-star offensive lineman Weston Jones announced his commitment to BYU.

The Romeo, Michigan product had offers from Virginia, Iowa State, Indiana, Army, Air Force, and a handful of MAC and G5 schools.

Jones has mainly played tackle during high school and could either stick there or move to the interior of the offensive line during his time at BYU. He his agile for his size and makes strong, powerful blocks in the run game. Jeff Hansen of 247 Sports reported that Jones will first serve a Church mission before enrolling at BYU.

Jones is the first 2021 commitment from outside the state of Utah and joins Raider Damuni, Tevita Mafileo, Kyson Hall (brother of Jaren Hall), and Ricky Wolfgramm as 2021 commits.
