Central Perk closed its doors 15 years ago, but Friends fans will be happy to know that one-time regulars Rachel, Monica and Phoebe are still hanging out. Courtney Cox shared a snap of a “girls' night” with her former co-stars Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow on Instagram on Monday – proof that when they sang along to “I'll be there for you” all those years ago, they meant off-screen as well as on.

Cox's caption – “Trying to figure out what to say on Instagram #gotnothing #girlsnight #friends” – didn't offer much insight into what the stars got up to, but it's comforting to know that even sitcom queens can struggle with what to say on social media. And in the absence of any other intel, we'd like to think the night unfolded in a similar fashion to the girls' Season One sleepover: takeaway pizza, jugs of “Tiki Death Punch”, and spying on the neighbours.

Cox, a relative newcomer to Instagram, previously professed her enduring love for her fellow Friends alumni in a post after turning 55. “How lucky am I to celebrate my birthday with these two??? I love you girls. So much,” she wrote alongside a picture of the trio.

Earlier this month she also shared a snap of her teenage daughter, Coco, wearing one of her mother's Nineties slip dresses on a night out – 21 years after the actor wore it on the red carpet. Clearly Cox knows that the best dresses – like the best friendships – are made to last.[#image: /photos/5d544d8f12e31a000848027e]
