A man accused of trying to rob a Big Apple store in Augusta has been formally charged.

Augusta Police say in February, 29-year-old Jesse Nichols went into the store on Civic Center Drive and demanded money.

A police officer in the area heard loud voices then saw a man running from the store followed by an employee.

Police say Nichols was caught shortly after that.
