A woman is appealing for help in seeking her father who walked out of her life more than twenty years ago - and believes he may have settled in Swansea.

Natasha Purcell, from Ogmore Vale, said she last saw her father, Anthony Davies, 23 years ago when he was living in Pencoed, when he disappeared without notice, leaving no message or forwarding address.

Now a mother-of-two, she said she decided to launch a search for her father, originally from Mountain Ash and now aged sixty, before it was too late for him to establish a relationship with her family.

Anthony Davies, now aged 60, is believed to visit a chip shop in Swansea

She said: “I was seeing my father quite frequently when he was living in Pencoed.

“I would have been 11 or 12 at the time. He and my mother were not together, but I would go and see him every weekend.

“But then he suddenly moved on and left. He didn’t tell my mother and left no moving on address.

“He had just had a baby who was a couple of months old, and she has been in touch with me to say that she has not seen him anymore.

“His brother’s daughter contacted me also to say she was trying to find him.

The chip shop where Anthony Davies might be a regular

Her search has led her to receive information that her dad may have been a regular at Penderry Fish Shop in Penlan, although he hasn’t been seen there recently.

She added: “Over the past few weeks I have been thinking about him, that he is getting older, and if I leave it any later I might regret it, and so might he, as I have two children and my brother has three.”

“It may be a long shot, but I want to have a go before it’s too late.”
