Explosions rocked a Swansea street when a car went up in flames. Crowds gathered in Caemawr Road in Clase after the vehicle was spotted aflame at the side of the road.

It is alleged that the vehicle had been seen driven at speed through the neighbouring roads earlier in the day.

One resident said: “We were in our garden and saw a cloud of black smoke and heard the car alarm going off.

“We thought a car had collided with another so ran over, but got told a lad was seen running down towards Vicarage road.

“We had just put the kids to bed because they heard it and came running out as it scared them”.
