A 61-year-old has been charged with murder following the death of a man in High Street in Swansea.

Mark Bloomfield, aged 54, died following an alleged assault near the Full Moon pub on July 18.

Colin Thomas Payne, from Swansea, had previously been charged with causing grievous bodily harm but has now been charged with Mr Bloomfield’s murder, and has been further remanded into custody.

Senior investigating officer, detective chief inspector Darren George, of the major crime investigation team, said Mr Bloomfield "sadly died from his injuries" a few days after the alleged assault.

“I know there were a number of people in the High Street area and inside the Full Moon public house at about 3.10pm on July 18 – some of whom have yet to contact us.

“I would urge anyone who may have been in the High Street area to make contact with the incident room, you may not have believed you saw anything but we do still need to speak to you. I am also interested in anyone who may have any dashcam footage of High Street on the 18th July to please come forward.”
