Police have released a CCTV image of two men who may have witnessed an alleged serious assault in Swansea.

The image was captured on Saturday night near the roundabout for Princess Way and Caer Street in the city centre.

At around 11.25pm, a man from Carmarthen was the victim of an alleged attack at the side of the Primark store, on the road which runs down to the roundabout.

The victim, who is 61 years old, was taken to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff and he remains there four days later in a critical but stable condition.

Police have arrested two men in connection with the incident, both of whom have since been released on bail.

A spokeswoman for South Wales Police said: “We believe the two men in the CCTV image may have witnessed the serious assault which happened at about 11.25pm on Saturday, June at the side of Primark, near the roundabout for Princess Way and Caer Street.

“We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed or filmed the incident to come forward.”
