A police car was rammed after officers were sent to investigate reports of a break in at a Cardiff building site.

Police were called at 9.15pm on Monday to the site in the Pontprennau area of Cardiff.

Whey they arrived, a car left the scene.

There was a short police chase, which also involved the police helicopter, and the car was stopped a short time later in the Llanedeyrn area.

It ended up against the side of a house in Mortimer Avenue. There was no damage to the house.

South Wales Police Roads Unit said that a police vehicle was "rammed" during the pursuit, but "luckily no injuries to the officer."

A 33-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man, both from Caerau in Cardiff, have been taken to Cardiff Bay police station for questioning in connection with this incident.
