Police investigate murder

There is a large police presence in the Llanedeyrn part of Cardiff as officers investigate the murder of Mohamed Megherbi.

A forensic tent was set up in woodland off Pennsylvania in Llanedeyrn on Wednesday and a number of police vans are parked nearby.

The M4 westbound from Junction 44 B4625 Llansamlet to Junction 45 A4067 Ynysforgan has now been cleared following the accident earlier on.

The M4 Westbound is partially blocked due to accident from Junction 44 B4625 (Llansamlet) to Junction 45 A4067 (Ynysforgan).

Traffic is coping well.

Crash on the M4

There is slow traffic due to accident, now on the hard shoulder on M4 westbound at junction 49 A48.

Congestion is backed up to junction 48 (Hendy / Llanelli).

Cameras show the vehicles are now on the hard shoulder on the approach to the roundabout.

Sheep are blocking the A465 Abergavenny Road at Govilon in Monmoutshire. Police are on the scene trying to move the animals.

The first sprinkling of snow of winter arrived in Wales but temperatures are set to plummet further and icy winds are going to make it feel even colder.

Police in Cardiff launch murder investigation

Police in Cardiff have launched a murder investigation as they search for a man who was last seen six weeks ago.

Detectives say there have be no sightings of Mohamed Megherbi since Tuesday, October 9, in Roath.

A spokeswoman for South Wales Police said a 26-year-old man from Llanedeyrn was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of murder.

High Hopes actor dies after long illness

Tributes have been paid to Robert Blythe, actor and star of Welsh sit-com High Hopes, who has died following a long illness.

Born and raised in Port Talbot, ‘Bob’ was trained as an actor at The Arts Educational Trust in London.

Two super-size turbines to be built in Wales

Two 125-metre wind turbines will be built on farmland in rural Carmarthenshire after a campaign to stop their construction was blocked at the High Court.

The “supersized” turbines will be built on land to the north of Rhydcymerau, between Brechfa and Llanybydder and around 20 miles to the north of Carmarthen.

Man lives on pasta and gravy after Universal Credit mistake

A man has had to live on pasta with gravy after a mistake on his Universal Credit (UC) meant he was only paid half of what he was entitled to.

Alun Krem-Szczesniak, who stopped working five months ago after contracting glandular fever, is entitled to £610 a month.

A four-vehicle accident has blocked the A478 at Boncath in Pembrokeshire. It has happened near the turn off for the B4332 and congestion is back to and through Blaenffos.

Touching tribute to Gareth Thomas

France players will wear rainbow shoe laces on their boots in their clash with Fiji this weekend in support of former Welsh rugby star Gareth Thomas who was the victim of a homophobic attack at the weekend.

Thomas - who won 100 caps for his country between 1995 and 2007 - was attacked by a 16-year-old boy in Cardiff city centre on Saturday night following Wales’ win over Tonga at Principality Stadium.

Accident closes Carmarthenshire road

An accident has closed the A476 Swiss Valley in Carmarthenshire. It is shut from Erw Non at Llannon to Glyn Y Swisdir at Felinfoel. The closure is likely to remain in place until mid-morning because the recovery team needs daylight to recover the vehicle safely.
