Cardiff City welcome Watford tonight in another huge game which could help determine their Premier League fate.

The Bluebirds are looking to secure three top flight wins on the trot for the first time since 1961, though naturally pundits are still to be convinced Neil Warnock's side have the mettle the last the distance in the scrap for survial.

Ahead of the Hornets clash , here's what the experts have said in their pre-match predictions...

PAUL MERSON

"This is a massive game for Cardiff. If they can win this, then it puts severe pressure on the other teams around them.

"Watford are a bag of Revels, you don't know what you are going to get, but on their day they are a good team and this will be a hard game for Cardiff.

Former Arsenal star Paul Merson

"If Cardiff stayed up, it would be absolutely huge. They are pulling up trees where they are now. That result against Southampton in their last game was phenomenal.

"It's the end of February and nobody could say they are definitely going down, which is a big compliment when you look at Huddersfield and Fulham."

MARK LAWRENSON

"Cardiff got a great win at Southampton in their last game and their fans probably think this game gives them a chance to continue their good run of form.

"But Watford, who beat QPR in the FA Cup last weekend, have got a bit of momentum behind them too.

Mark Lawrenson

"I backed the Hornets to win at Loftus Road because I thought they could match the Championship side physically, and I think it will be a similar story here."

MICHAEL OWEN

"If Cardiff beat Watford on Friday it will be the first time the Bluebirds have won three top-flight games on the spin since 1961, but I think the Hornets will take the points at the Cardiff City Stadium.

"Watford have kept a clean sheet in three of their last four Premier League games and they also won 1-0 at Loftus Road in the fifth Round of the FA Cup last Friday.

Former England striker and TV pundit Michael Owen

"Javi Gracia’s side won the reverse fixture at Vicarage Road 3-2 back in December and I feel they will do the double over Cardiff for the first time since 2006 when both sides were in the Championship."
