Yan Dhanda admits he's still adapting to the physicality of first team football following his summer move to Swansea City.

The 19-year-old joined the Swans from Liverpool shortly after the club's relegation from the Premier League last term having never played first team football for Jurgen Klopp's side.

Despite his lack of game time at the top level, Dhanda made a blistering start to life under Graham Potter, scoring the winner with his first touch after coming on as a substitute late on in the opening day triumph over Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.

But he has made just three first team appearances since then, the most recent of which came against Stoke City at the bet365 Stadium in September.

Dhanda has been a regular with the Under-23s of late as he looks to get some much needed minutes under his belt, and the youngster is hoping his efforts under Cameron Toshack and Gary Richards help get him into shape to feature under Potter on a regular basis.

“I always look to stay positive and when I get my chance on the pitch it is down to me to show what I can do,” Dhanda told the club's official website.

“I keep my mindset positive at all times. Whether I am playing in the first team or the under-23s, I aim to keep improving in every game.

“I love how Swansea play football – it suits me – and I am enjoying my time here.

“I do need to get used to playing against grown men. I hadn’t played first-team football before coming to Swansea, so it is about trying to get used to that physical difference.

“I am working hard on the pitch and in the gym and doing everything I can to make those gains.”

Dhanda started in the Carabao Cup defeat to Crystal Palace in August, playing the full 90 minutes for the Swans while his first league start came in the 0-0 draw with Nottingham Forest at the Liberty Stadium in mid-September.

He has not been in a first team squad since being an unused substitute in the 2-1 defeat to Rotherham United last month.
