With just three matches gone in the 2019/20 campaign, each of the 24 sides in the Championship have already gained at least a point.

And it's perhaps telling that no side boasts a 100% record, with five different teams claiming seven points from a possible nine after three fixtures.

It highlights the brutal nature of the division, with the season already having a few surprises while there are no doubt plenty more ahead.

It appears the results so far have made bookmakers rethink how things will pan out this term.

Leeds United, Fulham and West Brom were among the favourites for promotion at the start of the season, and each of those three sides have lived up to that billing so far.

Cardiff City were widely expected by many to go up under Neil Warnock, although after suffering disappointing defeats on the road to Wigan and Reading, the optimism in the Welsh capital has been somewhat dampened.

It's a far cry from the situation further along  the M4 where Swansea City have won two and drawn one of their first three league outings under new head coach Steve Cooper.

And it seems the bookies have reacted to the two Welsh clubs' results so far when it comes to predicting their fortunes for the remainder of the season.

Cardiff are now 14/1 joint-fourth favourites - alongside Brentford - to win the title while they are 15/4 fourth favourites to be promoted behind Leeds, Fulham and West Brom.

Swansea City head coach Steve Cooper

As for Swansea, most bookmakers had them finishing in the higher reaches of the bottom half.

But the odds have dramatically shifted as a result of their impressive start to life under Cooper.

The Swans are now 7/1 ninth favourites to go up this season while they are 25/1 joint-seventh favourites - alongside Sheffield Wednesday - to win the league.

Reading (12/5), Luton Town (21/10) and Wigan (23/10) - coincidentally the three sides Cardiff have played so far this term - are the current favourites to be relegated.
