Swansea City return to the Liberty Stadium against Queens Park Rangers this weekend following back-to-back away matches against Stoke City and Middlesbrough.

The Hoops endured a torrid start to the season but have enjoyed something of a resurgence under Steve McClaren of late, winning three Championship games on the bounce prior to their defeat to Norwich City at Loftus Road on Saturday.

But Swansea have had the better of the recent meetings between the sides.

They are unbeaten in their last four matches against the capital outfit and have fond memories of the fixture that took place just over six years ago as Michael Laudrup saw his side thrash QPR 5-0 on the opening day of the 2012/13 campaign to get his Swansea career off to a dream start.

But what ever happened to the Swansea side that took to the field that day?

We took a closer look...

Swansea City were sensational that day at Loftus Road

Michel Vorm

Vorm was starting his second season with the Swans having joined the club from Utrecht a year earlier.

And the Dutchman enjoyed a magnificent campaign as the Swans secured a stunning ninth place finish as well as tasting League Cup glory, although Vorm was rested for the entirety of his side's cup triumph.

After attracting a lot of attention, he joined Tottenham in 2014 where he remains today.

But he's had to play second fiddle to Hugo Lloris, and the going has proven to be tough for the now 34-year-old this season when Tottenham's first choice keeper was unavailable.

His three starts for the club this season - against Watford, Liverpool and Inter Milan - have all ended in defeat.

He's currently in the final year of his contract with Mauricio Pochettino's side.

Angel Rangel

Quite simply, a Swansea City legend.

Right-back Rangel made his final appearance for the Swans in their 2-1 defeat to Stoke City on the final day of the 2017/18 campaign, a result that ultimately relegated Carlos Carvalhal's side.

And having left the club he joined from Terrassa more than a decade ago, the 35-year-old coincidentally joined QPR on a free transfer.

He's featured five times for the Loftus Road outfit in the league so far this season and will no doubt get a great reception from the Swansea faithful if he features against his former employers this weekend.

Ashley Williams

It's been quite a couple of years for the former Swansea captain who left the club on the back of Wales' stunning run to the semi-finals of Euro 2016.

After a bright start, Williams soon struggled at Everton and after being frozen out at Goodison Park following his red card during the Toffees' defeat to Burnley in March, it was time for the centre-back to move on.

He joined Stoke City on a season-long loan deal in the summer but also endured a difficult start to life at the bet365 Stadium, with Williams being sent off as the Potters were thumped 3-0 by Wigan Athletic on their home turf earlier in the season.

It led to a serious debate over his international future, but Ryan Giggs put his faith in Williams by keeping him as Wales captain.

He's featured four times in all competitions for Stoke so far in the 2018/19 campaign.

Chico Flores

Chico must have thought he was at Barcelona as he made his competitive debut for the Swans in the 5-0 demolition job of QPR.

The Spaniard played the full 90 minutes as Swansea displayed a swagger and a ruthlessness that typified their approach under Laudrup.

The defender left SA1 after only two years with the club, joining Qatar-based Al-Duhail where he was re-united with Laudrup.

After three seasons in Qatar, the centre-back signed for Granada but now plies his trade with Russian side Rubin Kazan.

He was something of a fans' favourite at the Liberty Stadium, with THAT Sam Allardyce incident and a bizarre workout video proving memorable with supporters.

Neil Taylor

Taylor's 2012/13 season was something of a write off as a result of the ankle injury he suffered against Sunderland in September.

But the Welshman was part of the rearguard effort that ensured Laudrup made the perfect start to life as Swansea boss at QPR.

The left-back moved on to pastures new in the 2017 January transfer window, joining Aston Villa on a four-and-a-half year deal.

And Taylor is still a regular under Steve Bruce at Villa Park. He's featured six times in all competitions for the Villans so far this season, although he was left out of the Wales squad for the Nations League matches against Republic of Ireland and Denmark.

Jonathan de Guzman

The Dutchman was another to make his debut in the emphatic win over QPR and his career has certainly been interesting since his two season-long loans with the Swans.

The Canada-born man joined Napoli from Villarreal in 2014 but is now at Frankfurt following loan spells with Carpi and Chievo in Italy.

He's a regular for the Bundesliga side having made seven appearances in all competitions for the club so far this season, although he is yet to score a goal for his current employers.

His last competitive goal came for Chievo against AC Milan in March 2017.

Leon Britton

As with Rangel, Britton made his final appearance for the Swans in the loss to Stoke on the final day of last season.

It was a truly disappointing way for a club legend to end his career, with Britton hanging up his boots as the Swans were relegated after seven years in the top flight.

But his contribution to the club on and off the pitch will never be forgotten.

He is now a club ambassador along with Lee Trundle, while Britton is also a regular on Swans TV and Sky Sports.

Nathan Dyer

The winger scored twice in eight second half minutes as the Swans carved QPR open at will little more than six years ago.

And Dyer is one of only two players who started the 5-0 win against the Hoops who remains with the club.

He looked destined for the exit following Swansea's relegation from the Premier League, but he's been brought back in from the cold by Graham Potter of late, with Dyer featuring against Stoke and Middlesbrough in the last week.

How the Swans could do with a brace from the wideman again this weekend.

Wayne Routledge

Joins Dyer in being one of only two stars to line up against QPR in 2012 still at the club.

And as far as everything else is concerned, it's pretty much as above for Routledge who could well have departed the club in the summer.

Now 33 years of age, Potter is clearly eager to make the most of his threadbare squad, with the likes of Dyer and Routledge set to play a key role - until January at the very least - in what is a largely inexperienced side.

In the twilight years of his football career, but he still has a part to play with the club he joined from Newcastle in 2011 following a loan spell with the Hoops.

Danny Graham

The striker enjoyed five-and-a-half years with the Swans before leaving to join Sunderland midway through Laudrup's first campaign with the club.

But the veteran frontman is still delivering the goods.

Graham had loan periods with Hull City, Middlesbrough, Wolves and Blackburn before joining the latter on a permanent basis during the 2016 summer transfer window.

He scored 17 goals in all competitions for Rovers as they gained promotion from League One last term while he has netted on three occasions for Tony Mowbray's side so far in the 2018/19 campaign.

He's set to return to his old stomping ground when Blackburn head to South Wales next month.

Michu celebrates with Danny Graham after scoring for Swansea City against QPR in 2012

Michu

It took Michu just eight minutes to get his Swansea account up and running after joining from Rayo Vallecano, with the Spaniard scoring twice on his debut against QPR.

But after scoring a phenomenal 22 goals in all competitions in his debut campaign with the Swans, Michu failed to hit top gear in his second campaign with the club and joined Langreo in 2015 after a season on loan with Napoli.

He returned to boyhood club Real Oviedo in 2016, but after just one year back at the club he joined as a schoolboy, the Spanish forward announced his retirement from the game at the age of 31.

Michu was named as the sporting director of Langreo - managed by his brother - in July.

Scott Sinclair

Came off the bench to score Swansea's fifth and final goal against QPR six years ago. Sinclair is now with Celtic under Brendan Rodgers having had spells with Man City, West Brom and Aston Villa since leaving the Swans.

Kemy Agustien

Injuries well and truly hampered Curacao international Agustien's Swansea career, and the central midfielder has most recently been playing for Birmingham City's Under-23 side after a spell with Nuneaton Borough.

Mark Gower

The aptly-named midfielder last played for Ebbsfleet United in 2015 after leaving the Swans at the end of Laudrup's first season with the Swans.
