Swansea City are set to revive their interest in former Arsenal midfielder Glen Kamara, according to reports in Scotland.

The Liberty Stadium outfit were linked with the Dundee star all summer and appeared to be favourites to sign the Finland international.

A move failed to materialise, with the Celtic and Rangers target remaining with Dundee.

He has made 14 appearances for the Dark Blues this season, and according to local publication the Evening Telegraph, Swansea are back in the hunt for him.

The 23-year-old is out of contract in the summer and is able to sign a pre-contract with other sides next month.

The Scottish paper state that Graham Potter had a scout in attendance for Dundee's 4-0 win over Hamilton last Wednesday and that they'd be keeping a close eye on him during the match against Rangers on Sunday.

Swansea are pretty well stocked in the central midfield department, with Leroy Fer, Jay Fulton, Matt Grimes and Tom Carroll all available to Potter, but Kamara would add something different.

The Tampere-born man started his career with Arsenal, progressing up the youth team and age-grade ranks. He was named on the bench for the Gunners' Champions League tie against Galatasaray in 2014, and made his debut for them in the League Cup defeat at Sheffield Wednesday in 2015.

A loan spell with Colchester followed before he joined Dundee on a two-year deal in the summer of 2017.

His manager, Jim McIntryre, said last month that Kamara's future was a subject for discussion. He said: “We have not had that conversation yet.

“I know there has been interest in him. He is a very good player and I can understand the interest.

“All we are doing right at this moment is assessing what we have got and then moving forward there will be discussions.”
