Oli McBurnie is top of Sheffield United's wanted list this summer.
That is according to reports in Yorkshire, with The Star stating that the Scotland striker's name was the first one presented by manager Chris Wilder to co-owners Kevin McCabe and HRH Prince Abdullah bin Musa'ad bin Abdulaziz Al Saud last month.
The Blades secured promotion to the Premier League last season but Wilder is extremely keen to add goals to his side as they seek to make a good fist of their return to the top flight.
Brentford's Neil Maupay is also being monitored as a potential target.
Swansea City 's new head coach Steve Cooper was asked about McBurnie is his first press conference this week and he stressed his eagerness to retain the 23-year-old's services.
"I hope so (McBurnie to stay)," he said .
"It’s hard to come across that (his goals). Like any player, if we get an offer you can’t refuse, you have to discuss that. Dan James, the club must be very proud of that. There’s nothing better than seeing a homegrown player come through the system and take their opportunity. I did my best late on to see if he wanted to stay! But it was too late. I’m sure he’ll go on to good things at United.
"You get young players and put them in the team and they thrive, people will look, that’s normal. Anything is possible. We have to make sure we work hard to keep our assets. That will be my focus, getting the team ready to play the next game."
United have held interest in McBurnie for some time, but the striker himself says he is happy in South Wales.
“The fans have been absolutely unbelievable with me since I arrived here,” McBurnie told the club's official website last month.
“It sends shivers down my spine when I hear the fans singing my name.
“In one of the games they even sang ‘he’s one of our own’, which was quite funny.
“Without the fans there is no club. Professional footballers can forget how important they are, but that’s not the case here.
“For the love they show me, I try to repay them with goals.
“I’m really looking forward to next season, and hopefully I can score a lot more goals for them.”
Brighton and former boss Graham Potter have also shown interest in him this summer.
