Summer's not totally over just yet and there are still loads of adventurous things left to do in Wales.

If you're looking for a fun, easy-to-pick-up activity, there's not much that'll beat paddle boarding.

The water-based outing can be done by beginners or veterans to the sport, and most places offer an introduction course, too.

It just so happens that most of the activity centres that offer paddle boarding are surrounded by stunning Welsh coastal scenery, so even if you're rubbish on the water you'll have something nice to look at.

Here are some of the places where you can give paddle boarding a go in Wales.

1. Psyched Paddleboarding

You'll find everything from paddle boarding for beginners, giant paddle boarding and even paddle board yoga at the two Psyched Paddleboarding sites.

The founder was even the first person to stand-up paddle board around the whole Wales, so she knows her stuff. Oh and they also run a night paddleboarding session.

A beginners class starts from £40 per person in an open group booking.

2. Good Trails

Boasting beautiful beaches and stunning scenery, the Pembrokeshire-based Good Trails is a great place to get out on the water.

The enclosed bay at Saundersfoot also means that anyone can give it a go, regardless of experience.

3. SUP Barmouth

Set in the stunning surroundings of the Mawddach Estuary in Barmouth, this paddle boarding company says anyone can do it - and that they cater for ages 8-80+.

You don't need to be particularly fit, and they've got wet suits for most sizes, so whether you're a beginner or seasoned pro, you'll have fun on the water.

It costs just £25 per person for an hour on the water.

4. Cardigan Bay Watersports

Beginners can take a 30-minute taster session here, which will set you back £18. Instructors offer hints and tips on basic paddling so you can get yourself around Cardigan bay.

They also run hour-long lessons, tours and even a fitness class.

5. Outer Reef Surf and Paddle Boarding

At this paddle boarding school, you'll learn all the basics you need to get out on the water.

The Pembrokeshire-based firm offers a variety of packages and a guided two-hour tour of south Pembrokeshire's National park coastline costs just £35 per person.

6. KSW Boardriders

After starting out as a kite surfing company, KSW now offer stand up paddle boarding alongside various other watersports.

Based in Aberdyfi, sessions here start from March each year.

7. Stand Up Paddle Board UK

There are a number of different paddle boarding activities to choose from here, including flat water stand-up paddle boarding, a white water version, an evening social paddle and even doggy paddle boarding.

8. Colwyn Bay Watersports

More known for their wind surfing and sailing, this company in Colwyn Bay have been known to offer stand up paddle boarding.

9. Green Dragon Activities

From taster and beginner sessions lasting an hour and a half to more advanced lessons on the Conwy River, Green Dragon Activities caters to various abilities.

They're even involved with stand up paddle board polo, if you're feeling confident.

10. Snowdonia Watersports

Here you'll find an introduction to paddle boarding as well as a progression class too.

The intro session on Llyn Padarn costs £40 per person and lasts for three hours.

11. Stand Up Paddle Gower

You can take to the water around Swansea Bay and the Gower peninsula - and the instructors will share their expertise on the area with you.

They even offer lessons on Swansea Canal , if you're looking for somewhere a bit less open.

12. Cardiff International White Water

The water sports centre offers a range of classes to help bring beginners up to speed.

Once you've mastered the basics, you can take part in a mixed taster, which takes place on Wednesdays and £20 per person for a two hour session.

13. SUP Wales

SUP Wales is a paddle boarding club in south Wales that takes to the water at Cardiff Bay and nearby rivers.

To take part in the paddle boarding on Cardiff Bay and the Rivers Taff and Ely, you'll need to complete the Introduction to SUP course first .
