Organisers are pleased with the turnout

Event manager Liviu Jipescu said everyone was pleased with the turnout so far this year.

“It’s been great. This is my second year running it and it’s been a relatively constant crowd so far this morning. There’s been a great atmosphere and everyone is feeling really cheerful. We’re expecting it to get even busier as time goes on. This year we’re focusing on Coke Zero, and it’s the first year Santa is holding a Coke Zero bottle on the truck. People are being given a little can of coke half way through the queue and another one when they reach the Coke experience at the front of the queue. They also get a voucher for a 500ml bottle which they can redeem in Tesco. Once at the front they can choose to have their photo taken at one of three podiums.”
