Finding ways to make the most of the summer isn't always the easiest.

But luckily there's plenty going on throughout Carmarthenshire in the coming months, with live music, carnivals and outdoor cinemas all to look forward to.

Here's a look at some of the events taking place in the county this summer.

1. Jazz at Llandeilo

The seventh annual festival features a line-up of established and new artists from all over the UK. Offering something for all ages, the festival is based around two of the town's landmark pubs and will start on the Friday night before finishing on the Sunday afternoon.

2. Music in the Pool Garden

The first Fridays of July and August will see music nights at Aberglasney Gardens. July's even will see a jazz trio perform, while August's will see a six-piece band entertain the crowds.

3. Antiques Fair and Vintage Market

The event returns to Carmarthenshire after growing in popularity over the last nine years. Visitors can wander around the gardens while also taking in a mixture of antique and vintage items.

4. Burry Port Carnival

A weekend that many look forward to every year. On the Friday night there will be live entertainment from 6pm before the main carnival procession kicks off at 12pm on the Saturday.

5. Parc y Scarlets Big Day Out

Free donkey rides, a petting farm, superheroes and children's characters will all be on offer at the family fun day.

6. Carmarthen River Festival

The raft race, which celebrates the River Towy, will take place at 5pm but there will also be a funfair, entertainment and a number of stalls for visitors to enjoy.

7. Ammanford 10k Road Race

The race follows an open-road route around Ammanford and the surrounding areas. Registration is open from 8.30am before the race gets going at 10am.

8. Invncbl, Pembrey

Based in natural beauty spots throughout Wales, the iNVNCBL event will test your love of fitness while also challenging you.

9. Fish and Ale Train

Enjoy traditional fish and chips aboard the heritage diesel railcar with a bar serving soft drinks and bottled real ale.

10. Walk-through fairytale adventure

Children will arrive at the stunning castle to be greeted by a glass slipper princess before enjoying a ride in her carriage around the gardens. There will also be cakes and sandwiches available in the dining hall afterwards.

11. Burry Port raft race

In its third year, there will be children's rides, food stalls, stands and more to have a look around before the raft race gets under way at 3pm.

12. Llanelli Pride

The Pride event will be celebrating equality, diversity and community spirit in Llanelli. The free event will provide live music, food and drinks stalls and a funfair.

13. Dinomania

This indoor arena extravaganza will be fun filled and full of music, lights and amazing dinosaurs with an educational twist. Expect dinosaurs including triceratops, spinosaurus and the T-rex.

14. Ladies day at Ffos Las

One of the most iconic events of the year at the racecourse will return this summer. Abba tribute band Bjorn Again will be performing after the racing and there will be best dressed competitions running on the day.

15. Outdoor cinema

An outdoor cinema experience is heading to Llanelli this summer, with a showing of the popular Bohemian Rhapsody. There will be food, snacks, a bar and music all on offer before the film gets started.
