It's one of the best days of the year for Welsh people - the celebration of our patron saint, St David's Day .

And on Sunday, March 1, to celebrate the occasion, there are plenty of free offerings.

From beer to parties and free entry to castles, could these freebies be any more Welsh?

The following are all up for grabs on Sunday, March 1 unless otherwise stated...

A pint of Brains

Cardiff brewery Brains is  celebrating St David's Day in style, by giving away free pints of Brains in their 105 pubs across Wales.

The catch is that your name has to be David, Dewi, Dai, Davinia or Non (St David's mam).

Cheers!

Entry to castles

Caerphilly Castle

Thanks Cadw - they're opening their doors for free this St David's Day across 16 historic sites.

Choose from an array of sites to explore - from Wales’s largest fortress, Caerphilly Castle, with its iconic leaning tower, to St Davids Bishop’s Palace, located near St Davids Cathedral, where Wales’s patron Saint, Dewi Sant, founded his monastery.

Meanwhile, Conwy Castle, Caernarfon Castle, Beaumaris Castle and Harlech Castle, which collectively form a UNESCO World Heritage site, are also set to open their doors for free, alongside many other spectacular abbeys and castles across the country.

However, the free spaces must be booked online ahead of a visit.

Free entry tickets must be pre-booked online, and you can do that here .

Nando's PERi-PERi sauce

Nando’s is turning up the heat across Wales by giving away free bespoke bottles of sauce to anyone named David for the whole weekend.

Any customer who visits Nando’s on Saturday, February 29 or Sunday, March 1 named David (or Dafydd, Dewi, Dai, Dafina or Davina) will receive a limited-edition St. David’s Day bottle of Nando’s Medium PERi-PERi sauce, bespoke with their name, when they spend £7 in the restaurant.
