A southern Indiana man faces felony charges after he was found to be in possession of more than 1,200 images and 45 videos containing child pornography according to Indiana State Police.
A search warrant was issued back in April after Indiana State Police received a tip that Coty N. Silvers of Owensville in Gibson County might be involved with child pornography.
Detectives with the Indiana State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force located and seized several devices belonging to Silvers.
The devices were later examined and that’s when the images and videos were discovered.
Some images and videos contained children under the age of 12.
After reviewing the investigation, the Gibson County Prosecutor’s Office issued a warrant for Silvers’ arrest. He was taken into custody Friday afternoon at his residence without incident. Silvers was taken to the Gibson County Jail where he is currently being held on bond for the following charges:
- Child Exploitation, Level 4 Felony
- Possession of Child Pornography, Level 5 Felony
