A crash invovling two semi trucks caused a fuel leak along the Indiana Toll Road on Monday.

According to Indiana State Police, the crash happened around 4:45 p.m. just west of the Chesterton exit.  A semi driven by 54-year-old Glenn Christy, of Valparaiso was going eastbound on I-80/90 and slowed down for a disabled car. A semi behind him, driven by 56-year-old Mohamed Abid of Palos Park Illinois, then crashed into the back of Christy’s trailer.

Abid lost control and went off the road, hitting a guardrail head-on. Because of the crash, his semi leaked approximately 150 gallons of diesel fuel. It took crews unil 9:00 p.m. to clean up the semi and the fuel spill.

Neither driver was hurt.
