This weekend marked the first Mississippi Food & Wine Festival in the metro. All the fun happened Friday and Saturday nights under the big tent on Duling Avenue in the Fondren Business District.The 2019 Mississippi Craft Beer Festival was the anchor event of the festival Friday night. This was the Craft Beer Festival's fifth year. It featured more than 100 craft beers produced by three dozen breweries from Mississippi and around the region. "Having fun... enjoying the day... enjoying different beers. This is Ghost of the Day. One of the best ones out here," event attendee Carter Stevenson commented. Saturday night, festival-goers wined and dined during the first ever grand tasting event. It featured a varied selection of dishes and drinks from local restaurants and chefs across the Magnolia State. Attendees got to enjoy live music as they sampled each featured cocktail and food item, as well. Organizers say they cannot wait to watch the event continually grow for years to come.
