THROUGHOUT this year we will be dipping into the wedding albums of Warrington couples who have tied the knot and finding out more about the happiest day of their life.

This happy couple knew they were went meant for each other after finding they were the last couple to leave at closing time during their first date at a bar in Chester.

Nadine Uwigena-Bowen, aged 33, and Shaun Bowen, aged 35, had been chatting on dating app Tinder for around three months before they met for the first time.

Nadine added: "The first time I saw him, his eyes just drew me closer to him. It may sound cliché but it felt like my heart skipped a beat.

"I can’t say love at first sight but I certainly felt something that said I was going to be with him for the rest of my life."

Shaun added: "I was so excited for the date and it didn’t disappoint.

"When I first saw her in person I thought 'She is beautiful' and I couldn’t wait to get to know her more.

"From the moment we walked into the bar we did not stop talking and laughing and I realised that this could be the start of something special."

The Howley couple got engaged while on holiday in Cape Verde in September 2017 following a quad biking excursion in the sand dunes.

Shaun got down on one knee on the balcony of their hotel room with the sun setting to top off the 'best day ever'.

Warrington Guardian:

The love birds got married at Tyn Dwr Hall in Llangollen in Wales in April this year and said it was the 'most amazing, idyllic wedding venue ever'.

Nadine added: "The theme we went for was nature, as the venue is surround by beautiful, scenic hills.

"As I’m originally from Rwanda and Shaun is Welsh, our tables were names of hills in our home countries."

It was their second ceremony as in August they had a traditional Rwandan Dowry ceremony in Belgium with 200 people attending in traditional Rwandan clothes.

During their Welsh ceremony they were joined by 100 guests who tucked into a wedding breakfast with a potato and leek soup for starter, lamb main and crème brulee before evening guests enjoyed mini Yorkshire puddings with pulled pork, mini shepherds pie and cheesy risotto crunchy balls.

Warrington Guardian:

Nadine added: "My top highlight was when I saw his piercing beautiful blue eyes as I walked down the aisle.

"It was the same feeling I had when I first met him but intensified.

"My bride tribe helped get the party started early and they did a good job as all my nerves were non-existent.

"My other favourite memory is when I received a bouquet of flowers from Shaun.

"We had been together for more than three years but he had never got me one before."

Warrington Guardian:

Shaun agreed one of his highlights was also seeing Nadine walk down the aisle.

He added: "She looked absolutely stunning. I could have watched her walk down that aisle forever.

"Nadine had always made a point of the fact I had never bought her flowers but little did she know that once we got engaged it had always been my plan to buy the first bunch on the wedding day. "I was just down the corridor when the flowers were delivered and hearing her scream of pure joy when she received them was a special moment.

"Our first dance was also another special moment, it felt like we were the only people in the world at that moment."

Warrington Guardian:

Five days after the wedding, the newly weds headed to America for three weeks to travel Route 66 with a surprise limousine picking them up from Chicago Airport.

Being hit by the travel bug is just one of the many things this couple say they have in common as well as cooking together, camping and hiking.

Nadine added: "I love him because he brings the best out in me, he makes feel comfortable in my own skin and I can easily express myself.

"We just absolutely love being around each other, if we are apart for more than a day we can’t wait to see each other."
