Former Vice President Joe Biden corrected himself again during remarks he made at a fundraiser in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware Friday night when referencing a speech he delivered in Iowa.
Biden, who often recalls President Trump’s press conference remarks at Trump Tower on the 2017 Charlottesville riots as the reason he entered the race, described to attendees at the 275-person event the rise of white nationalism under Trump, according to a pool report.
At one point, the former vice president referenced his own speech in Burlington, Iowa last week when he accused the president of “fueling a literal carnage” in the country with his rhetoric, but initially said the speech took place in “Burlington, Vermont.” Biden immediately corrected himself to say he delivered those remarks in “Burlington, Iowa.”
Biden’s staff has reportedly limited his appearances due to similar gaffes he has made recently, which included confusing the locations of the mass shootings in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, while speaking to donors at another fundraiser in San Diego, as well as telling a group in Iowa that “poor kids” were just as smart as “white kids.”
