Roger Stone set for paid strip club gig in Richmond

.

Roger Stone will deliver a paid speech at a strip club in Richmond, Va., in May.

Stone, who was arrested last year on federal charges and claims to be having financial problems, is set to appear at the Paper Moon strip club at a meet-and-greet event, the Daily Beast reports.

The move sparked backlash from local activists who suggested the right-wing Proud Boys group may function as Stone’s security force. The group, which was founded in 2016, describes themselves as “western chauvinists” and has called for political violence.

But the strip club is not concerned about violence at the event.

“We have our own security, and Roger Stone’s a professional,” Paper Moon projects director Mike Dickinson said.

Stone is waiting to appear before trial for several counts related to alleged communications with WikiLeaks leading up to the 2016 election. He pleaded not guilty and was released on a $250,000 bond. As a result, he said that such expenses and legal fees have effectively bankrupted him.

A judge barred him from publicly discussing his case.
