Wyoming governor accused of screaming “F–k you, mayor” at female Republican

Gov. Mark Gordon of Wyoming has been accused by Marian Orr, the mayor of Cheyenne and a fellow Republican, of “profane and misogynistic” behavior towards her during a meeting.

Orr said that Gordon used “his physical presence in an aggressive and threatening manner,” banged his fists on the table and shouted “F–k you, mayor” when they met last Friday to discuss a Taiwanese government delegation visiting the state this summer.

“For a split second I thought about walking out, but I felt like this was a very important issue,” Orr said, according to the Associated Press.

Gordon, 62, said he didn’t use threatening body language, saying: “I am deeply offended by the mischaracterization represented in the mayor’s description of our meeting.”

But he added: “I am not proud of my language and I apologize for the word I used. I have reached out to the Mayor to apologize for it.”

Orr, 49, supported Gordon last year when he ran for governor of Wyoming and said she “wouldn’t have endorsed him last fall had I known that he was capable of this. “

She added: “And to be comfortable enough to do this in front of three of your own staff is telling about one’s character.”
