OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - A 43-year-old Oklahoma City man has been sentenced to 42 months in prison after admitting to making a hoax threat of a mass shooting at a community college.
Court records show David Aaron Jacobs was sentenced Wednesday after pleading guilty to conveying false or misleading information.
In a signed plea agreement, Jacobs wrote that he is guilty and wants to accept responsibility for the crime.
Jacobs wrote that in March 2017 he sent false information to police and local news outlets about a pending mass shooting at Redlands Community College in the Oklahoma City suburb of El Reno.
In addition to prison, Jacobs was ordered to pay nearly $30,000 in restitution for the cost of investigating the threat.
