Christmas came a little early for a special group of kids here in East Tennessee.

Students from the Tennessee School for the Deaf were given new bicycles Tuesday night. We had a crew there to capture the elementary and middle school students’ faces light up after seeing the bikes.

American sign language students from Pellissippi State Community College donated the new rides.
Dream Bikes worked to service the bikes to be just like new and The Cerebral Palsey Center donated helmets to go with each of the 45 bikes.

They hope the bikes provide health benefits and give the kids the happiness they deserve.

“When the kid went up and hugged my club president, that was just the most precious thing in the world because they were really expressing themselves and showing how appreciative they are of all of the hard work that my students and my club president has put forward for this to really happen,” said Pellissippi State instructor Gay Baker.

Each year, Baker’s sign language students at Pellissippi State provide a three-day holiday extravaganza for students at the Tennessee School for the Deaf.

The bike giveaway closed out another great activity-packed event.
