VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — One of the many events featured at this weekend’s Something in the Water is a Pop-Up Church Service.

The service, which begins at noon on Sunday on the beach and 20th Street, will have star-studded lineup of gospel music performers and about two dozen local churches.

While the service is free and open to the public, organizers have first come first serve seating.

And with parking limited at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, and traffic expected to be heavy, those hoping to attend the service can signup for a free park-and-ride shuttle service.

The shuttles will pickup servicegoers at two locations:

  • Military Circle Mall: 880 N Military Highway, Norfolk, Virginia
  • Greenbrier Mall (former Sears location): 1401 Greenbrier Parkway, Chesapeake, Virginia

Those taking a shuttle for the service can select from a few different pick up times: 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Buses are scheduled to return to both locations at 3:30 p.m., 5:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

The much-hyped Something in the Water festival kicks off Friday, April 26, at the ends Sunday, April 28. More information about the festival can be found here.

WAVY.com will have complete coverage of the festival throughout the weekend.
