VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A suspicious death investigation is underway after a woman and a man died in Virginia Beach on Wednesday morning.

Virginia Beach police spokesperson Tonya Pierce said a relative called police about a cardiac arrest in 5500 block of Bound Brook Court — located located off Newtown Road — just before 9 a.m.

Pierce said officers found a woman dead and a man injured at the home. The man was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries where he later died.

“I could have said something to him, but then again it’s none of my business, so it’s like I don’t want to get involved in whatever they got going on,” said neighbor Kieran Powell.

He was trying to think if there was anything more he could have done when he saw his neighbor this morning.

“I don’t really know them over there, but like when I came out here this morning I heard yelling or whatever and dude with his shirt off,” he described.

That was around 8 a.m.

“He was ticked off at something, something was bothering him,”Powell added.

Powell said the man was circling his car at his home on Bound Brook Court, and less than an hour later a woman was found dead inside the home.

“I just seen all these cops out here, ambulance stretcher, the tape, I seen all that.”

Police say a relative called in help for cardiac arrest, when they found the woman dead inside, they also found a gentleman with life-threatening injuries. He later died.

Powell and other nearby neighbors say they’re in disbelief.

“It’s nothing that really scares me, it’s just sad you know, just really sad,” said Brian Moates.

“I don’t know that’s wild to think that you can be talking to someone one minute and the next minute you passed, that is just wild,” Powell said.

Officers are not looking for suspects, according to Pierce.
