VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – Two people were hospitalized after a serious crash in Virginia Beach Wednesday morning.

The two-vehicle crash happened at the intersection of Princess Anne Road and Old Pungo Ferry Road just after 8 a.m.

Police say a 2006 Honda Odyssey was traveling east on Old Pungo Ferry Road and stopped at the stop sign. A 2015 Ford F-150 was also traveling north in the 700 block of Princess Anne Road.

The Honda tried to make a left turn onto Princess Anne Road and was then struck by the Ford.

Princess Anne Road was closed in both directions for several hours and traffic was diverted to Morris Neck Road. The road reopened around 11:30 a.m.

According to Linda Keuhn with Virginia Beach Police, one of the victims in the Honda was airlifted by Nightingale with life-threatening injuries. The second occupant was treated and released.

The other injured person from the Ford was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Their injuries are considered not life-threatening.

The crash remains under investigation.
