Initiative would need governor to move state into stage two of recovery plan

Annapolis is working on a plan to allow outdoor seating at restaurants as soon as the governor moves the state into stage two of his roadmap to recovery.|| Coronavirus updates | Maryland's latest numbers | Where to get tested ||Mayor Gavin Buckley announced Monday in an interview on WBAL NewsRadio that the city will block off streets to allow more spacing to adhere to social distancing guidelines."We are creating recovery zones in the city of Annapolis, where we are going to close off whole blocks and distance tables and do some fun things like table tennis and corn hole and bocce and just some fun things to spread people out," Buckley said.Buckley also announced that the city has launched "friendliness ambassadors" to the city dock to help enforce proper practices including handing out face masks and keeping people 6 feet apart.
