Gone but not forgotten: Days after local rapper Tre Da Kid was shot and killed, hundreds came together tonight to honor his life. There were a lot of hugs, so many tears and a lot of people at this vigil for Edward Seay, 32, on Tuesday night. If the size of the crowd says anything, it's that Seay was beyond loved. Seay was a star on the rise. The rapper and father, who went by the stage name Tre Da Kid, won a national freestyle competition and was well known in Annapolis and beyond. But loved ones said that was just a small part of his incredible life."He was taught very well by his parents to respect and honor. He was the greatest father there was. And everybody is just going to miss him," Renee Turner, Seay's godmother, said. Seay was found shot in a vehicle Friday night. The car had crashed into a pole on Forest Drive in Annapolis.Police don't have any suspects and said that, at this point, they don't have leads or a motive. "When you hear about it, you're, like, 'No, anybody but him,' because he's just positive, literally, just that positive guy. No beefs," Dante "DJ Ice Luv" Mackell, a lifelong friend, said. "Everybody knew him and he has a special relationship with people. I looked to be his best friend, but I like to say he was best friends with everybody," friend Comacell Brown Jr. saidIn addition to being a musician, Seay was an entrepreneur and a comedian. The green and gold balloons at the vigil honor his love for the Green Bay Packers and represent the family's hope for lasting memories, peace and justice."If you want to do the right thing, put the guns down so that little boys like my nephew don't have to grow up without their dads, so that kids don't have to gather for things like this, so that friends and family don't have to talk about their friends and family in the past tense. Enough is enough," Lesley Sedwick, Seay's sister, said. Seay's son, Trent, is 10 years old. Funeral services for Seay are planned for Saturday.
