If the Polar Bear Plunge isn't for you because of the cold, there's now another way you can jump into the water to support the Maryland Special Olympics. Next Friday, it's all about the kiddie pool in Hurricane Harbor at Six Flags America"Special Olympics, they own having fun in the winter in the water, and so what we wanted to do was our own way to have fun in the water in the summer," said Denise Stokes, Six Flags communications manager."It might be colder, it might be warmer, but I am, you know what -- one way to find out is if I go in there and test it myself," said athlete Annu Singleton.Six Flags is celebrating the summer solstice with a solar plunge. They're dumping 2,400 pounds of ice in the water. It costs $25 to participate, and there are tiers of additional perks for money raised.Six Flags is offering incentives to fundraise."So that could be tickets to the park for the day at Six Flags, swag, stuff like that," Stokes said."Our goal is to get to 20,000 athletes by 2025, so events like this will bring more awareness and inclusion for all the athletes," said Frank Farrell, vice president of the Maryland Special Olympics"Support us.
