New State Positivity Map Shows Counties Rate For Coronavirus

Screenshot of Indiana Department of Health

A new map at the Indiana State Department of Health’s coronavirus dashboard now shows COVID-19 positivity rates for each individual county.

The map color codes the counties by percentage level, showing as red those counties whose positivity rate for the virus is over 15 percent.

In northeast Indiana, only Lagrange County is in red, with a positivity rate of about 16 percent. However the county’s positive case rate has largely declined since June when LaGrange saw a case-reporting high of 27 new cases on June 10.

After enacting a mask mandate, the county’s case rate has largely decreased. Three new cases were reported over the weekend.

DeKalb County is coded orange on the map, with a positive test rate of 13.9 percent and 222 cases.

Allen County’s positivity rate is at 10 percent. There were 26 new cases reported Monday morning, for a total of 3,655 positive cases and 158 deaths.
