Broken gas line backs up South Burlington traffic

A gas leak caused a traffic jam in South Burlington Thursday afternoon.

Vermont Gas tells us a construction crew severed a line on Market Street.

The gas was quickly turned off but the emergency response forced traffic to be rerouted in the busy Dorset Street area.

Vermont Gas says five customers were still without service Thursday evening, but they hoped to have the line repaired by later Thursday night.
