Burlington Coast Guard to train on the ice

An emergency on the ice requires a unique set of skills to make a safe rescue.

Burlington Coast Guard crew members are training Tuesday and Wednesday to make sure they're ready for a call to action on the lake.

It's a two-day training that includes ice cutting, self-rescue, helping and transporting survivors and other techniques.

Crews are heading out Tuesday afternoon in the Champlain Marina.
