First day for trout, salmon and bass ice fishing in Vermont

These below freezing temperatures have arrived just in time for the opening of ice fishing season this morning.

The Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department says anglers are finding good ice fishing for trout, salmon and bass.

The season continues through March 15, on forty large Vermont lakes.
