Vermont state Christmas tree lit in Montpelier

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Montpelier. The Statehouse Christmas tree was lit Friday afternoon.
Gov. Phil Scott, R-Vermont, threw the switch to light up the 30-foot balsam tree at 4:30 p.m. Then people were invited to a reception in the Statehouse lobby.
The tree came from a family in Hartland who decorated it every year until it became too big for them to manage. They donated it to the state for all Vermonters to enjoy.
