Pedestrians struck outside Montpelier movie theater

Two people in the hospital Saturday after being struck by a car in Montpelier.

It happened at 5:38pm on Main Street. The Montpelier Police Department says 86-yr-old Olene Doyle and 64-yr-old Janet Kacewicz, both of Montpelier and were crossing the street from the Savoy Theater when they were struck by a car traveling South on Main St. Police say they were not in a designated crosswalk. They were transported to hospital for unknown injuries.

The driver of the car, 43-yr-old Jonah Bronstein of Calais, was not injured. Police say speed or imparment do not appear to be factors in the cause.
