Plans for Montpelier parking garage move forward

Plans for a new parking garage in Montpelier continue to move forward.
Montpelier's Development Review Board this week approved the publicly financed garage, part of a larger project which will include a Hampton Inn and Suites.
Voters in November approved the $10.5 million project which will be funded through Tax Increment Financing.
City officials say an Act 250 hearing is set for mid-January 16, part of an abbreviated process because the project is located in a designated downtown. Construction could begin this spring.
