Vermont bill would legalize adult prostitution in state

Among the more than 100 bills under consideration by Vermont lawmakers this session is a measure to legalize prostitution.
The bill, which is co-sponsored by four women lawmakers, would repeal laws that ban prostitution by consenting adults but it would keep state and federal laws against human trafficking.
H. 569 is pending in the House Judiciary Committee.
If enacted, it would take effect July 1, 2020.
