Hundreds still without power in Charlotte after strong weekend thunderstorms

The intersection of Queens Road West and Selwyn Avenue in Myers Park was closed after multiple power lines and trees fell during the storms.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — It's been over two days since a line of strong storms rumbled through the Charlotte area but the Queen City is still feeling Mother Nature's impact. 

Hundreds of people in Mecklenburg County are without power as Duke Energy crews continue to repair damaged power lines and downed trees in Myers Park, Madison Park and Dilworth. 

As of 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, there are more than 800 people in Mecklenburg County without power.
