TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- With the 2019 hurricane season approaching, the City of Tallahassee is offering a series of workshops to help residents and neighborhoods prepare.

The city says their Neighborhood PREP (Plan for Readiness and Emergency Preparedness) Workshops will be held at the following locations:

  • April 9 at Seminole Baptist Church, 3330 Mission Road
  • April 29 at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, 4784 Thomasville Road
  • May 9 at Sue Herndon McCollum Community Center, 501 Ingleside Drive
  • May 21 at Jack McLean Community Center, 700 Paul Russell Road
  • May 23 at Jake Gaither Community Center, 801 Bragg Drive Each workshop will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Residents and neighborhood leaders interested in attending are asked to register. Participants at each workshop will receive resources, be better educated on needed tools and items needed and available within the community as well as participate in "storm related activities" that will illustrate the importance of preparing before a disaster strikes.
