TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Tuesday night, the Tallahassee Fire Department battled a structure fire at the Sonny's restaurant at 1460 Timberlane Road.

According to TFD, the fire broke out around 8:52 p.m.

Upon arrival, crews found smoke and fire coming from the back of the building.

Because the restaurant was still open at the time, firefighters began an aggressive search to ensure that everyone had made it out safely.

After confirming that no one was still inside, crews worked quickly to extinguish the flames.

TFD says firefighters worked for hours into the night to put out the blaze.

No injuries were reported at the scene.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Tallahassee Fire Department Prevention Division and damages are estimated at $200,000.

The Tallahassee Fire Department was assisted on scene by Leon County EMS, the Tallahassee Police Department, and City Utilities.
